Meeting Times: The club meets on the top floor of the Reform Club (the room on the left at the top of the stairs) at the bottom of Moor Lane in Lancaster. The Club is open on Tuesdays (7 pm onwards) and Fridays (7.30 pm onwards) from late September until the end of April. There is no difference between these nights and some come on one or the other and some on both.

The Reform Club has various facilities which are available to the chess club including a bar.

We hold a variety of club tournaments. There is a club championship and a club quickplay (30 mins time limit) tournament.

There are also tournaments run by the local league for all standards of player.

There are occasional lightning (10 secs per move) tournaments.

The club has three teams in the Lancaster, Morecambe and District League and plays in local team knock-out competitions.

However, you don't have to be competitive and the club welcomes all standard of player including those who just want to play friendly games.

Annual membership is £60, which includes membership of the English Chess Federation. However, if you are a student or you live a long way away, or you would only be coming occasionally, the Treasurer is open to negotiation for a lower fee.
