A great effort by all the players on Saturday 12th May 2012 in Northampton! Having qualified in the 6th and final place from the northern Zonal and having to face traditionally very strong southern-based teams, we knew that our relatively inexperienced squad would have a huge battle on their hands to secure any points. The fact that they managed to win 15 points was commendable, but particularly pleasing was the way that every single one of them played – slowly, carefully and tenaciously, not yielding anything easily. Excellent by everybody! And a big improvement on the Zonal – Bill’s coaching session definitely had an impact.

Lancashire Land U18 NCCU Team Championships

Lancashire won the U18 Northern Counties Team Championships on Saturday April 21st 2012. They won it convincingly, with a clear winning margin - and with an average team age of 14!

On 17th March at Ormskirk the Lancashire U11 team took part in the U11 Northern Zonal. With 8 teams chasing 6 qualifying places, Lancashire had an experienced side and so were hopeful of qualifying. But the Lancashire players proved to be their own worst enemies by playing too fast in many of the games. Most of our points came from the players who took their time.

Lancashire's U9 team competed in the EPSCA Under 9 Inter-Association Championships Zone on Saturday 10th March 2012, held in Cheadle Hulme near Stockport.

Lancashire qualified for the final by finishing 5th on 18 points.  Local rivals Manchester were 3rd with 20 points, Cheshire and North Wales 4th with 19½ points and Tameside 6th with 15½ points.

Huge congratulations to the Lancashire U18's who won the BCF National U18 finals in Leicester by just 0.5 of a point! This is the first time Lancashire have won this title since 1974.
