These directions may not necessarily be the quickest, but they are by far the easiest.

Come off at J5 of the M65 (The Shadsworth turn off) and take the A6077 towards Blackburn. After going through 5 roundabouts and passing the Royal Blackburn Hospital on your right, the A6077 bends to the right and goes downhill. After the road bends to the left take the second turning on the right into Bennington Street. After 250 yards take the third turning on your right into Pringle Street. At the second priority give way sign turn into the Audley Community Junior School's car park.

The entrance is at the far end of the building where there is additional car parking if necessary. Please park considerately for others!

REFRESHMENTS AVAILABLE ON THE DAY

Come off at Junction 19 of the M62 and follow signs to Heywood (A6046). Carry on into Heywood centre (about 1.5 miles). Keep going until you come to the first proper set of traffic lights (Barclays Bank will be on your left at these lights). Turn immediately left after the traffic lights into Hind Hill Street. Continue on this straight road for 500 yards. The road will then veer 90 degrees to the right. DO NOT follow the main road right, instead turn 90 degrees to the left.

After 50 yards you will come to a T-junction. Turn right onto Wilton Grove. After 200 yards you will come to a railway bridge. Go under the bridge and through the school gates.

The school drive immediately splits into two - all vehicles should take the RIGHT fork. Park where indicated, and follow signs for chess on the day.
